Compressing

When a file is COMPRESSED, using a compression utility, it takes up less space on a disk or other storage device. This means fewer diskettes can be used to store the same information.

The compression process saves information about the embedded objects, etc. in the file being compressed. Therefore, if there is no information about embedded objects (such as a CorelDRAW! object) available in the computer's registration database, the file containing such objects cannot be compressed.
